About Us
Pigmentoes was born from the passion of years of sock knitting that evolved into a passion for kettle-dyeing my own sock yarns.
In addition to a WAHM, I am also the proud mother and advocate of a son with Autism. Since Autism has woven itself into every
aspect of my life, I felt I wanted to give back to the community that so greatly has helped our son. All profits from Pigmentoes
will be donated to an Autism charity. In an effort to spread the wealth to so many deserving charities, we have chosen to alternate
which charities we donate to every six months.
Our current charity is "Autism Speaks". If you have suggestions as to which charities you would like to see receive these
donations, please feel free to e-mail me with suggestions.
My son Grant (now 10 yrs old) will be naming the colorways. It has been amazing how appropriately he has named these
colors; if you know anything about autism, you will know that appropriate and autism are rarely used in the same sentence. As we
have embarked on this journey we have been taught so much about compassion for others, seeing the humor in life when everything
seems dark and just living one day at a time. If you don´t know much about Autism, we invite you to check out Autism Speaks
(
http://www.autismspeaks.org/) to empower yourself. And if you would like to privately contact me about autism, please feel free.
I will do anything I can to help you.
We hope you enjoy our yarns as we have enjoyed bringing them to you.
